When I Think of Research

The production of a piece of research is what characterizes academic education and differentiates it from vocational training. We are expected to demonstrate scholarly academic standards in the form of careful and accurate collection of evidence, from which we draw relevant and considered conclusions. This research course has provided me a unique opportunity to follow my interest in an area of research, to focus on this and make an important contribution to the development of my chosen research area. Prior to starting this course I always overwhelm reading an article but this course has given me a better understanding on how to read it. This has made me create an interest in research unlike before.

It was a great opportunity to learn some lessons about planning, designing, and conducting a research which included getting the best information available, analyzing data, different types of design, validity, collaboration is also very important in research and the design of a research would depend on the question of the research.

The major challenge I encountered during the course was how to narrow down a topic after choosing the topic that interest me but now I have better understanding of how it could be narrowed down. My perception of early childhood professionals have been modified as a result of this course by understanding how professionals in this field are very important in participating in research related to early childhood in data collection, data analyses and the outcome of the study in order to have better result.
